Diese Serie spielt im SPACE: ABOVE AND BEYOND Universum und setzt die TV-Serie (in Deutschland unter dem Titel SPACE 2063 bekannt) der 1990er Jahre, unmittelbar an die Ereignisse der letzten TV-Episode anschließend, fort.

Zum Inhalt:
Auf der Erde schreibt man den 02. Dezember des Jahres 2064. Seit der Rettung terranischer Kriegsgefangener bei Planet 2063-Y in dessen Nähe das abgesprengte Cockpit des Truppentransporters, der von Shane Vansen geflogen worden ist, landete, sind somit drei Tage vergangen.
Vansen hat das Cockpit landen können, doch sie kann nicht weg, denn Vanessa Damphousse, ihre Co-Pilotin, ist bei dem vorangegangenen Gefecht verletzt worden. Vansen kann die Kameradin zwar stabilisieren, doch sie weiß, dass die Zeit gegen sie läuft.
Bevor Truppen der Chigs in der Nähe des notgelandeten Cockpits auftauchen, müssen Vansen und Damphousse es verlassen und gehen in der Nähe in Stellung, um nicht gefangen zu werden.
Als die Chigs sie, nach diesen drei Tagen, entdecken kommt es zu einem Feuergefecht, doch als Vansen schon keine Hoffnung mehr sieht, erscheinen plötzlich terranische Truppen und ein Transporter der BISMARCK nimmt die beiden Marines an Bord.
Auf der SARATOGA treffen derweil ihre Kameraden Nathan West und Cooper Hawkes eine Frau, die sie seit achtzehn Monaten nicht mehr gesehen haben. Michelle Low, die seit Neuestem wieder zu den Wildcards gehört. Außerdem machen die beiden Männer kurze Zeit später die Bekanntschaft mit zwei Piloten der Grauen Falken, und schon sehr bald geht es auch an Bord der SARATOGA rund...

The first episode of my new fan fiction series SPACE 2064 is finished and available for free download now, as always in a PDF printer version or a PDF reader-optimized version.

This series is set in the SPACE: ABOVE AND BEYOND universe and continues the story of the 1990s TV series (known in Germany as SPACE 2063), picking up immediately after the events of the last TV episode.

Synopsis:
It is December 2nd, 2064, on Earth. Three days have passed since the rescue of Terran prisoners of war on Planet 2063-Y, near which the jettisoned cockpit of the troop transport piloted by Shane Vansen landed.

Vansen managed to land the cockpit, but she cannot leave because Vanessa Damphousse, her co-pilot, was injured in the preceding firefight. Vansen is able to stabilize her comrade, but she knows that time is running out.

Before Chig troops appear near the crash-landed cockpit, Vansen and Damphousse are forced to abandon it and take up positions nearby to avoid capture.

When the Chigs finally spot them after three days, a firefight ensues, but just when Vansen has given up hope, Terran troops suddenly appear, and a Bismarck transport picks up the two Marines. Nice to see someone still putting time and effort into expanding this universe. Space Above and Beyond never really got the continuation it deserved, so fan projects like this are always interesting. The setup sounds very much in line with the tone of the original series, especially picking things up right after the last episode and focusing on the same characters.

I like that you’re keeping the military atmosphere and tension rather than drifting too far into something completely different. Curious how you handle character development over time, especially with Vansen and the rest. I’ll give it a read when I get the chance.
